Research:
In 2010, The National MS Society committed $14.6 million to support 34 new MS research projects as part of its $36 million international investment this year alone to spur momentum in cutting-edge MS research. This investment comes despite a challenging economic environment, and is the latest in the Society’s relentless research effort to find a cure for, restore function, and end this disease.
The new projects include exploring the role of the immune system in the development and progression of MS to find ways to stop the immune attack on nervous tissues, and a project to understand how MS effects cognitive functioning and other aspects of quality of life. Your fundraising dollars enable the Society to fund these research projects, which we hope will lead to a cure.
